Mydols, Grateful Dads play for families

Just because you have children doesn't mean you can't get out and mingle, but in today's uncertain economy paying for a babysitter for a night out isn't always feasible.

For those who need a variety of options, the Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit will offer Family Hootenanny.

The free Sunday event will feature the mother of all rock band battles when mommy group, the Mydols, and daddy band, the Grateful Dads, go head to head. Read the whole story in the Detroit News.

Rock Star Mommy

Rock Star Mommy is a rallying cry for every woman who fondly recalls when she spent more time in mosh pits than “Mommy and Me” classes to adopt a rock ‘n roll attitude toward life. Based on Judy Davids’ experiences as a music fan, a mother, and the leader of one of the first “mommy” rock bands in the country, it tells the story of the Mydols’ path to success and the inspiration it gave Judy—and so many other moms—to embrace creativity and pursue their dreams.
