WHAT A HOOT!
The family Hootenanny was a HUGE success. April Mydol did a fantastic job promoting the must see event for rock and roll families. I'm guessing there were 400 kids and adults in attendence and everyone was gushing with praise. There was live music, instruments for kids to pound, hula hoops, tubes to run through, a great craft show (of which the Mydols had a vending table) and lots of beer (for the adults).
Left to right: Wensdy (mime), Laura (snake charmer), April (ringmaster), and Judy (hobo clown).

OoVoo VIDEO
I just posted a video to http://www.mydols.tv/ about video chatting using FREE software from http://www.oovoo.com/. I am totally hooked. We've been using it to talk to relatives in Tennesse and even England. I also used it to join a meeting in Novi when the roads were icy so I wouldn't have to drive. Check it out. I also posted it to Facebook.

I've been sewing. cutting, gluing...you name it. I can't wait to set up shop on Sunday at the Magic Stick. I think we have some pretty nifty items to sell and if we don't, well I made all the stuff for me anyway!
One of the things I'm really excited about is some brnad spankin' new Paper Fashion Mydols that include the all the members of our new line-up. Even newbie Laura!

FIRST DANCE
Yesterday was such a happy day for me and my family. We gave up our weekends last summer, and a bedroom in our house (we had a campaign worker from California live with us) to see that this guy got elected. My kids both worked long hours too. And finally we saw the fruits of our labor. I picked up Dylan at school, Willie took the day off, and John and I left work early to watch President Obama get sworn in.
Willie and I had religious education classes last night and the 6th, 7th and 8th graders were definately excited about this man who makes them aspire to be smarter (as Beyonce said) and to give service (as Kid Rock said). I could feel the kids' energy. Obama enpowers them. We all prayed for him last night. It was so moving.
THEN we got home and turned on the TV and saw THE dance. I swooned.

OBAMA BEDROOM
For Christmas the kids got room makeovers. Willie wanted an "Obama" bedroom. Here's what we came up with.

A CIRCUS FAMILY HOOTENANNY
It's been a long long time since I posted anything. I wish I could say I've been relaxing, but uh, no. I have been crazy busy.
First the boys both got room makeovers for Christmas. I shot some video and I can't wait to edit it and post it. They both needed a change. Dylan (who is almost driving) had a Toy Story theme going on.
The Mydols, in the meantime have a new drummer! Laura Spern has been practicing with us for a couple weeks. (Johnny is nursing a broken wrist.) Laura totally rocks. I can't believe she has only been playing since July. If you are anywhere near Detroit on January 25, come and meet her at the Magic Stick. The Mydols are hosting a Circus Family Hootenanny. Check out http://www.mydols.com/ for all the details. It should be great. There'll also be a DIY Craft show going on and Wensdy and I have been sewing and gluing up a storm--luch bags, purses, earrings, paperdolls. My my my.
