NEW WORK...

I'm designing the new banner for the Mamapalooza newsletter. It has some of the mom rocker "hall-of-famers" on it including Wensdy Mydol. (Pictured on the far left.)

CATCHING UP!

I feel like I've barely had time to breathe the last few days.

The Mydols were the musical guest on the Mitch Albom Show last Friday. We got to play 3 times and we were smashing! Yay! I think even Mitch was impressed. He said we've improved since the last time we saw him. He joked he "even heard us play 2 chords" this time. He was REALLY kind and funny and the time flew by so quickly. Thanks Mitch and Kenny for having us on. (Like they read my blog.)

Saturday was Mamapalooza at the Detroit Zoo and despite the horrific weather, it went really well. The Mydols played first and we had a rough start but after that it all went swimmingly. The rest of the lineup included Sara Covatta, The Aprons, Robin Moore, Maggie McCabe and Cindy Anderson. MOMS ROCK!

Today is the BIG book signing at Barnes & Noble. The Mydols will play about 3 songs and then sign books!

MYDOLS ON THE RADIO IN MN

The super cool Laurie Lindeen emailed me today to say she was going to play Mydols tunes on the Lori and Julia show in Minneapolis/St. Paul. That was thrilling to read.

The Mydols will perform at the Minneapolis Convention Center at the end of the month. I am looking forward to seeing lots of family while I am there. My nieces and nephews have been so kind and generous--offering to put the band up and throwing get-togethers. Also the North Star Derby Girls have been so nice. I can't wait to meet them.

Today, I confirmed an appearance on Street Beat--a TV show on CW 50. And the C & G Newspapers called today for an interview. I also met the the good people at the Detroit Zoo to finalize details on Mamapalooza Detroit!

BABY BOOMER DIVA HALL OF FAME

Woo woo! What a day I had yesterday. First, I was accepted into the Baby Boomer Diva Hall of Fame. That's me in the top row on the left. What a great honor. I got lots of email--some from as far away as Australia.

THEN! I found out I have been selected to speak at the "Performing Motherhood: Outlaw Mothers in Music, Media, Arts and Cultural Expression" in New York City. I will hosting a workshop titled "Mommy Loudest: The art of Self Promotion". This event is sponsored by ARM/Mamapalooza.

I am embracing my age, gender and maternal instincts in grand style these days.

I also conducted a blogging workshop at Gilda's Club yesterday. I had a great time. We ended up hanging out together for an extra hour and a half. They say the best way to learn is to teach. I'd have to say that's true because I think I learned as much as my students yesterday!
